Observations from the Columbus last weekend -
I was in Columbus last weekend to watch the unveiling of Terrelle Pryor (and unnoticed by most, some of the new offensive line talent). Beside Pryor starting, it was also a special game for me because it was also the first time my three girls (17, 17, and 12) went to a Buckeye game. Needless to say, they are hooked. Pryor is indeed awesome, it seemed to take a half for the players around him to step up their game to his level. For example, Robiskie missed that pass early in the game because I don’t think he was used to the being kept alive so long. He definitely has that “Troy Smith” leadership quality about him. With a better attack, our defense was stronger and seemed to be playing the spread more aggressively despite getting toasted in the second quarter. The one disappointing note was the boos heard for Boeckmann, totally uncalled for, we still may need him yet this year. Additionally, there were empty seats and the fans were definitely “off” last week. For those whom have become bewildered, I have two words “John Cooper.” If “Coop” was still at the helm, there would be no national title, no national title losses and we would be slugging it for the basement of the Big Ten with the Team from Up North. I am getting pumped for that game, I would like to beat them to a pulp to send a strong recruiting message for years to come.
